The following questions include those most heard from potential residents and their loved ones. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Yes. Many communities do not discuss finances with potential residents. At Hermitage Three Chopt, we include a financial and actuarial review for many reasons. Most importantly, we want to be sure residents can live on their terms and do not have to move again if they are blessed with longevity, and their level of support needs change.
Hermitage Three Chopt requires all residents to carry Medicare and a Medicare supplement policy or equivalent. As a federal medical health insurance program, Medicare will help defray costs associated with physicians, hospital stays and therapies; however, Hermitage Three Chopt is not a certified Medicare health facility, so your Medicare benefits do not cover the monthly base rate.
Hermitage Three Chopt partners with Affirmation Home Health in order to offer full rehabilitation services on-site, with licensed physical, occupational, and speech therapists. Transportation is offered to outside rehabilitation service providers when that is the best option for a resident.

This is a deeply personal, and often times, difficult decision to make. While only you will know when you are ready to make this decision with or for your loved one, there are several things to consider that may help you determine when you and your loved one are ready:
The fact you are here, shows how much you care. It likely means you are questioning whether your loved one is thriving, or even safe, at home any longer. At Hermitage Three Chopt we encourage you to get to know us before there is an “event” such as a health crisis or caregiver exhaustion. Even if you are simply fact finding, we are happy to begin the conversation so you are able to make the most informed decision when the appropriate time becomes clear to your family.
We are the only 100% Memory Support community in the area.
Because all of our residents have some form of dementia, our entire team - from housekeeping and dining; our PCAs and CNAs, to our entire team of directors – are all trained specifically in dementia care. This fosters an “all-hands-on-deck” model of resident care that you not find in other communities.
We are non-profit.
Non-profit senior living communities like Hermitage Three Chopt are mission-driven organizations. Unlike for-profits, which are accountable to shareholders or investors, non-profits reinvest every dollar earned into enhancing the community for residents. This focus ensures that decisions are based on improving residents’ lives, not increasing profits.
Stronger team member/resident relationships.
With better staffing ratios and reinvestment in employee training, non-profits foster meaningful connections between team members and residents. Hermitage Three Chopt does not use temporary staffing models. We are able to employ, manage and sustain team members with minimal turnover. This continuity of care helps residents feel valued and cared for, further promoting a sense of community.
At Hermitage Three Chopt we encourage you to mix and mingle – anytime, and often! We love to get to know your family as part of ours, and believe that with your participation, your loved one’s care is that much more comprehensive. You will find we boast open doors and open communication.
While Heritage Three Chopt does not have specific visiting hours, we simply ask that you keep your resident’s and the rest of the community’s best interests top of mind if visiting in the late evening or early morning.
